My theme for English B

As Dr. Preston and I were reading the poem I made a small observation that in this poem, there is this thing that most tend to struggle with and it is Self Love, Self Love is one of the most important thing for yourself and others. Basically say you need an engine for a car, Self Love is kind of like the engine but for you, I'm not saying you are a car but it's just a metaphor. Self Love will be the engine to where you want to go. And Self Love comes a long way, as I said in today's meeting I said, "In the society today there's a lot of expectations of what you should be, like for girls you should have this type of hair and you should have this type of eyes and type of body to be accepted to be in society today. I WANNA BE ME." Self Love is the engine that will get you away from that, because honestly it will be sooooooo sooooo boring to be this type of person for society. Like umm you crazy and that's not a good crazy. It is only our decision whether we t...

Fahrenheit 451 Essay

My theme/Prompt: How the world itself is different and a bit dark and gloomy and the atmosphere not being the brightest. A little intro: I honestly doing this essay last minute because really, I was not keeping up with posts but I have been  only face-timing and really, I will probably just blab out words, please bare with me. Thank you :). Fahrenheit 451, what is it? A book. What kind of book? A weird but special book. This book was written by Ray Bradbury and he practically predicted the future. As I was with my English as we were reading the book and as we were reading the a getting closer to the end, the book had only one thing that was really in my mind the whole time. The world of the book, the atmosphere of the book. The book had no bright, positive sayings about the book. The world was dark and gloomy. Kind of like our world, no? Have you seen the world a bit dark and sad? I mean from my perspective, I felt as if the world was a great place around the 2000's to 2018 a...

The online meetings

Most of them are awkward. Most of them help. Most of them give good lessons. Most of them are entertains. Most of them are ones that help to keep up for our education. All of them are a great aid for our education.

My impression on Dr.Preston's essay on Fahrenheit 451

Dr. Preston's essay on Fahrenheit 451, I read some paragraphs and some I skimmed through but one thing I did notice how detail he will go in with one scene of the book to real life. While also being on the topic of the book, it was a great example of an essay, I will use it as a guide for my essay :).

451 questions, 20 answers (Fahrenheit 451)

#12 From what I have red so far is the face of Mildred face, blue and gloomy. Also, from what I have read so far is that Mildred doesn't seem a bit happy, more of she knows she's loved but is still having sadness, not completely depression but more of sadness.

My Gatsby Essay

In the book, the Great Gatsby, towards the end of the book, there is a line, "so we beat on boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." In the book the narrator keeps bringing back flash  backs of the main character Gatsby. The flashbacks were mostly about the character's past before the story went very wrong. The flashbacks also involved another important character Gatsby's love Daisy. you can see that in the book Gatsby talks about what happened five years ago in Daisy's household. The moment he had with Daisy, with just love and Daisy, it was to change his life forever and no grudges were hold back. He had said "and I let myself go." Then everything seemed to fall apart after the war. Now everything seemed to be coming back after Gatsby had come back mysteriously. Tom Buchanan now the husband of Daisy. Gatsby will stop at nothing to get his old past love back, but sometimes going back to the past can give a cost, but oh so well The G...

Worthy Mentors

1)Daniel Araiza I have known Daniel for a while and we talk about the world and how it is pretty crazy and when we talk its mainly about what we have seen or been through and I think he will be a good help with my big question.  2)Bernardita Morelos I know her through a close companion of mine and I observe that she is one who is very observative  and very well eye opened and that definitely comes in handy about my big question, why? Who else is going to look at your journey for you? 3)Juan Mejia I met Juan through two friends and I like how he goes by life with joy and watching how for himself and taking care of himself. That is a great resource to use. 4)Juan Martinez Juan and I went to the same junior high and that's how I know him, This year I have noticed him observing the little tings about life and questioning why this is and also just him going with the flow. Another great resource. 5)Alex Montgomery Alex and I also went to the same junior high and...

Cue theme music

The Great Gatsby book, well from what I have read is telling me that, It's a journey about you and where you go and what you see and who you meet and in just by a little time, there is so much that you experience and how it's ridiculous in such little time that your own life can go at a ridiculous speed and how your able to see it. This book really impacts on how you see what you will get if you give up. But there's always a way to change that.

My pre-write (preview of Gatsby Essay)

The last line in the book quotes, "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." And that quote is very unique and perfect for anyone stuck in the past. Because whatever has happen in the past that we know we can not take back or go back to it, whether it was good or bad. The past was the only beginning for us to start our whole life which includes the future as well. The past is the start for the finish line but only if we let it finish. The past can be the start.

Have to versus want to versus get to

Doing work in your own way, Do you have a routine? Or just be organized? or Set reminders? or Do everything in order? We all have different and unique ways of doing what we do. What makes it different is comparing to ourselves to others.

Gatsby Prompts further thinking

Some ideas I got, which is only one, is love. Love is something that they really do not take into consideration. So, What do we see in love? What is it to you?

What Gatsby says to me

This book mostly teaches me what not to do. And how much struggles I should watch out in life. I think the central message of this book is more of, its okay to take risks and to observe of whats around you.

Chapt.4 so I was supposed to get nots of the beginning of chapter 4 for the great Gatsby but to be honest, I didn't really get anything, I was completely lost and I so hope Tomorrow I won't be lost, I know I would call for help but I thought I could try on my own, turns I couldn't but I mean, lets see if Tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow is always another day.

Gatsby 2/11/2020- Nick's cardinal virtue

Nick's cardinal virtue is...."I am one of the few honest person I have ever known" We can see Nick as a humble but yet a crud person of what he knows of what or who he is. Nick can be someone who is very proud of what or who they have become. He may be arrogant but that is probably one way to show that you're not here to play games and mean business. If he is someone who has turned our to be very kind and humble, then he is a good guy.

My MOM on my Big Question

2/8/2020 Big Question: How is your journey so far in this thing called life? There is not really much I could think about, I mean if spent my mind on my big question, it really is just a question that really don't have to put my mind to it, it's your experience not anyone else's.

Gatsby 2/4/2020

Great Gatsby from what I've read so far, its kind of a like a K-Drama, They are Korean Dramas of different genres, they are very addicting because they are mostly about fantasy love but some relate to real life. That is what I've read so far or what I have gotten from the book so far. Basically the beginning of a love story with someone's perspective, either getting before getting the girl or getting the boy. We'll see what tomorrow has in store for us.

Behind the ignite talk

Behind my big question, I notice a lot of people wanted the ecosystem to change better and well I really wondered, how can we make the ecosystem better? I mean who are we to make the ecosystem change? What did you feel that you want the ecosystem change? Did you feel something lit up in you or just a funny feeling? That is why I asked, "how has your journey been so far in life? What made you who you are today?"

I'm Ignitited

Today's Lecture-1/27/2020 My Ignite talk I'm just going to go ahead to the point. How was your journey been so far in this thing called life?

Backup for my journals (hey,so i keep forgetting my journal so i decided to it here)(probably gonna keep updating every last day of the week)

1/15/2020-Journal topic; A feeling or thought forgotten over the break I have forgotten the feeling of expecting something to lift my energy up, when i know that i need to do it myself. When walking in this room, i just remember to just mind my own business. 1/16/2020- Journal topic; sick How I know when I get sick, well I can communicate with my body very well, I'll start with my throat, i'll feel how warm it would be and to sallow, how t hurts or just flem. Then I will feel my body try to shut down and sometimes it will mostly be in the morning. So when I try to get out of bed, my body will say 'no, i am dieing.' Then i will know, 'okay, im sick.' 1/17/2020-Journal topic; common phrase what makes one year better than the other is accomplishing and taking action in whatever it is you have been wanting to do for awhile and just simply want to do. Argue This

Today's lecture-1/22/2020 Syllogism-simplest form of logical argument deductive -Premises (major) -minor premise  -conclusion Truth-Validity Finding the something of real in a lie (sort of the truth but not really) Valid Truth to conclude the saying  Major Premise-Minor-Therefore-Conclusion Ex: "We want the atmosphere to change into better but why don't we act up on it?" Either we are scared. Either we do not have the encouragement. Either we do not have much information. Either us being lazy is NOT AN OPTION. It gets me thinking how bad we really want the atmosphere to change. I do not see why we keep stalling to change it. It may take awhile and may have to keep it going for the rest of our lives but we can be successful in it. Therefore, why not start now?

Down the Rabbit Hole

In today's class lecture, we got into someone named John Steinbeck, I guess a famous writer who wrote in the Great Depression and the beginning of WW2. We read his article and the teacher asked to click one link that was in the article and follow where it will lead you. Well one link I have clicked on is a woman named Rebecca Solnit and hers is Hope in Dark Times, I clicked on it because it gave me very different meanings of what I think about. One is what gives us hope when we are in a dark time. Two, having hints or a guidance. But as I looked more into it's really more of us writing our story, not on a paper with a pencil but just we express ourselves is how we tell our story and sometimes get haunted by the negative vibes we have in ourselves and haunted by the bad past we have been through. A quote from the article to end this piece today, " Hope doesn’t mean denying these realities. It means facing them and addressing them"

Today's lecture- 1/17/2020

The World is My Library

aha!has found something!! This novel- The Hobbit; all chapters. But the first ever time the book came out and started getting recognition, it had a good review, with the mythology and all the fantasy characters, I would see why it got a great recognition. Mythology was pretty popular when it came around. As from what I have been from my perspective, the book gave me a very much good way of encouraging me to take steps in life and to not be afraid of journeys and adventures. Two Short Stories: Story 1-  The tru'ng sisters, They are sisters from Vietnam, Who daughters of a Vietnamese lord and grew up educated in books and war. They led 65 and 80 thousand soldiers volunteering to take up arm against the Chinese and restoring traditional Vietnamese government, but then the Chinese had made a comeback and it was an awful comeback but the tru'ng sisters held them off for three years but sadly like every story has come to an end. They got out numbered. They both committed suicide ...

American Literature

A writing that has a(n) artistic value, that's literature, for the american part, don't really have much sayings for it, I'll leave it up to you. Contributing to it, I do not know how that works, but I mean if I were to look for a book or a poetry or a novel or just some writing that speaks like art, maybe that's contributing?  Get back to you when I do :0
