Fahrenheit 451 Essay
My theme/Prompt:
How the world itself is different and a bit dark and gloomy and the atmosphere not being the brightest.
A little intro:
I honestly doing this essay last minute because really, I was not keeping up with posts but I have been only face-timing and really, I will probably just blab out words, please bare with me. Thank you :).
Fahrenheit 451, what is it? A book. What kind of book? A weird but special book. This book was written by Ray Bradbury and he practically predicted the future. As I was with my English as we were reading the book and as we were reading the a getting closer to the end, the book had only one thing that was really in my mind the whole time. The world of the book, the atmosphere of the book. The book had no bright, positive sayings about the book. The world was dark and gloomy. Kind of like our world, no? Have you seen the world a bit dark and sad? I mean from my perspective, I felt as if the world was a great place around the 2000's to 2018 and then somehow 2019 was almost like a year we wish we could take back especially in the midst of what it is happening now. I felt as if somehow the world shifted into a bad shadow, now I feel as if the shadow is not even a shadow, it feels ass if it is the atmosphere we live. Honestly, if anyone new came to visit a community that is pretty dark, they will see how gloomy and grey and not really bright and yellow. Speaking of community, how's the education you ask? (your probably didn't) but here's where the prediction happen, note that this books was written back to where World War 2 just ended or close to ending, I think.
There is a character named Clarisse, she's a teenager just like us, but she describes her education as technology, meaning her classmates and her teaches do not meet in a regular classroom physically, What are we doing now? Fahrenheit 451 had the same vibe as our world but it was worse. The main character Montag was a firemen, not one who fights fires but uses the fire as if it's his own element. Now the world he lives, that is everyday job, imagine that in our world, woah I just can't. Describing his job can tell how the government is, bad or good? What about love? *spoiler alert* His partner tries to overdose, when he called the doctors, they were smoking and being causal about it because apparently, every night someone tries to commit suicide, as if it was a normal thing. This can tell how the community is, bad or good? Bad. If someone tries to die every night, it makes me kind of wanna ask, is that person happy or okay? Also the partner was not every hearted, more of a thoughtless heartless person, so of her friends. This can tell that the people in the community are bad or good? Bad! If these girls are thoughtless and heartless, they can be more people who can be like them or worse. I mean there are firemen who burn books!!. I mean here in present time, the firmen fight fires, thank you God! Also what about the defense system?
Towards the end of the book, Montag does something that changes his life completely. He kills his boss. Anyways, he kills his boss and run away, he succeeds but the police that are after him are like a whole army and they put on television as if its a game, talk about The Hunger Games and killing for fun, but they don't succeed instead they pick an innocent person just going out for a walk and boom, that innocent persons is dead, and then that was it. Isn't that crazy, I mean sometimes we can do that but at least its the right criminal. It is a good thing that our defense system helps and protect, well sometimes. This can obviously tell how their government system is, but would you think it's because their world is just messed naturally or because it was messed up by something they depend on. When reading this book sometimes, I wonder if our world will become like this, there could be a possible chance if we do not take care if it and by that just simply take care of ourselves. Well it is a good thing that Montag feels and thinks different from the rest of the world. He seems to be seeing it different as if there should be a change but then when he ran, he found others that were chased down to be "dead" as well. They have been onces that are different from the rest.
How can they be different, well in their world, books are a crime and against the law, no knowledge for others, no one getting educated by written words, only technology where everyone is pretty much senseless. Technology is their new books, their new everything, they do not even have real dogs!! You'll know what I am talking about soon when you read the book. It tells me that their government system loves to be in charge and thinking they are shifting it into "a new world" but really they are just destroying it. In conclusion, I think we should take better care of our world if we do not want end up as theirs, as for their world, it is a problem to a solution that can be fixed, but I am seeing our world slowly going into more deep of the shadow and dark time, but there are some changes. Fahrenheit 451 is a book that I recommend read to see what you think of the book and if it is kind of our world. My last and final thought, I think this book was a sort of warning us to what can happen ahead of time but what are we gonna do about it? What are you going to do about it?
